Timing Races during a meet can be a hectic affair. Keeping calm through the process will help. After some time you will learn the technique to get accurate times in any situation.
It helps to load your runners in the order that they will come in as they are timed. You know your team and know who is the best. Stacking the race will make it easier for you to find the proper runner on the list as they come buy you.
Timing 12 runners on the first lap of the 1600 can be a real mess. Usually 4 or 5 guys go buy in several seconds. If you already know the order of these guys, it is a simpler job to just click down the list then huntig out each name.
If you get it wrong, you can edit the report from the desktop.
If you have a breakthrough perfromance on lap 1, you can Click the Name Header bar and sort the list by times, this allows you to resort the list of runners through the race and allow you to quickly find and time your athletes as needed.
In case of a false start, simply hit the reset button, this will stop the clock and reset the clock to start at 0:00 when you restart. This feature is active for the first 30 seconds of a race and until a time is recorded.
(On the Pocket PC, this feature is activated by a PRESS AND HOLD context menu)
If you accidentally click the wrong runner, Righ click on the name, and select CLEAR LAP.
(On the Pocket PC, this feature is activated by a PRESS AND HOLD context menu)
You cannot accidentally hit a runner twice, a lockout is in effect after you select a runner. The lockout time is controlled when you set up the race.
