CAPTURE TIMES |
TThis Feature is used to capture times in a very quick mannor, Clicking on BUTTON #4 will capture times quickly, similar to a stopwatch, without a need to click on a runner. | ||
| |
There are times when way
to many runners will come across the timing point at the same time.
What can you do to get all the lap times.Several technigues
will
help: Stacking the races beforehand by putting the best runners first and grouping runners by ability, will make recognition easier. Sorting often thru the race will help Get in the habit of looking Down the track to recognize runners and there place before they need to be timed. It is possible to capture times quickly using the Record Time feature. This feature is activated by pressing Button #4 (email on the IPAQ). |
Each time the button is pressed a consecutive
number will grow in the UPPER LEFT tab on the title bar. These are CAPTURED TIMES. If ten guys come by at once and you only can select 6 of them, hit the record button 4 times. After the mess is passed, TAP on the Number. The CAPTURED TIMES will be stored in that lap as SPARE. It is then possible to go back after the race and assign the times to the runners missed based on your knowledge of them, their relative position in the race, etc.
Runners whose times are missed will not have the full tally of their laps in a given race. Because of this, after all laps in a race are run, the runners who have been clicked each lap will have a F in their lap header, runners who's times were missed and can be edited from the captured time list, will have less laps than the required number. In order to stop the clock after the race is finished, it is necessary to SELECT STOP. In the Left columns you will see 4 RACE screens that represent each lap of a 1600 Meter race. At the end of each lap several runners' times are captured using hte RECORD Times button. After each lap is finished the CAPTURED TIMES are saved to that lap by PRESS AND HOLD onthe Numbered square, before timing(clicking of Runners) of the next lap is started. |
.
RESOLVE THE MISSING RACE TIMES
After the race is finished, the CAPTURED TIMES can be assigned to the runners whose times were not recorded in each lap.
This can be done manually
or thru the RESOLVE
LAPS feature.
Select a suspect runner.
Runners who have missing laps will populate their laps from first to last. Although a runner has missed lap 1, the first time his name is clicked, that time will populate LAP 1 but in reality be LAP 2's time . You can adjust the LAP positions by selecting the LAP under the Runners name and click the GREEN ARROW to move the LAP TIME to the proper lap. In this case, LUKE McCLURE's time was missed in Lap 1. Select the Laps and drag them down by highlighting the lap and clicking the arroww inthe desired direction. Moving all 3 times down will leave LAP 1 empty and ready to edit. |
Highlight the errant lap time, selected from the list of CAPTURED TIMES and select UPDATE. The lap and split time is corrected. |
After all editing is complete, SAVE THE RACE by selecting YES to lock in the resolved times |
In the REPORT, the CAPTURED TIMES for each LAP are saved inthe SPARE rows. The adjusted time shows up in LAP 1 in LUKE McCLURE's report. |
